PINK FLOYD / Music From The Film "More" [1969]

The first full-length Floyd album recorded without Syd Barret, Music From The Film More is a bit of a bump in the road for the band and the direction they were heading.
More might have some really great jewels in the rough on here but it's also filled with too many overly simple throw away songs that serve as boring background score cues to the "hippy drug" film they were written for.
It's great for the hardcore Floyd fan but for a casual listener looking to explore their earlier efforts I'd go searching elsewhere.

Yup. You said exactly what I would have said, except I'd have said it in a more seductive and sexy voice that made the reader rip off their clothes and roll around on the floor.

Like I'm doing.

Right now.

I thought I did say it my sexy, seductive voice. :(

i love this album. the instrumental pieces (particularly "dramatic theme") are awesome but the softer, folk songs are also great...they really show the softer side of waters' songwriting ability, something heard less in later pink floyd music.

not a perfect album, but seeing that it's the first without syd, it showed roger was more than capable of filling the songwriter void left after barrett's departure.
