KATE BUSH / The Sensual World (1989)

The problem with creating your masterpiece early in your career is in how to follow it up.  Kate wisely waited some time (4 years) before trying.  The title of this sixth album isn't just referencing one track; the whole work has a passionate and sensual sound.  It’s filled with flowing melodies and a dreamy atmosphere but it’s never wispy and ineffectual.
Its often overlooked, perhaps because of its lack of the typical Kate style experimentation, but it deserves recognition for giving her the chance to let her vocal soar with a very real heartfelt emotion.  It's beautiful.
