SWANS / The Seer [2012]

Michael Gira's second studio venture with the newly resurrected Swans comes neatly wrapped as 2012's two hour long double album opus The Seer.
As you may have guessed it's droning, post-rock hell in the most beautiful of forms, threatening you with tormented crescendos and vast spaces of haunted emptiness.  It's safe to say, after the so-so My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky, Swans have gotten right back on track with The Seer.  Aided by a handful of notable guests, including Karen O, members of Low & Mercury Rev and even ex-Swanster Jarboe, Gira is playing with all the right pieces here.
It's everything I wanted from a new Swans album and more.

This is the first I've heard anything from this one. I'm on 'Mother Of The World' now - it's awesome. Hooray for youtube (for a change).
