PUSCIFER / Conditions Of My Parole [2011]

What was intended as a one-off joke band on the HBO's Mr. Show, Puscifer has certainly come a long way for a "joke".
Tool's Maynard James Keenan's 2nd "solo" album, Conditions Of My Parole seems like more time was invested in the songwriting compared to his first album. With a pulsating electronic sound closer to Depeche Mode rather than Nine Inch Nails, Maynard opens some fascinating doors of tranquility, mystery and beauty.
It may not be as powerful as Tool but Maynard sounds at peace exploring the places he'd wouldn't normally be able to with this other projects. This gem's a front runner for my favorites of 2011.
