PANTERA / Vulgar Display of Power (1992)

Phil 'Hard Bastard' Anselmo finally shed his glam metal past and became the hero of half of my school in '92.  Diamond Darrell gave us that humongous riff, you know the one!  Vulgar… was Pantera on top form.  It’s anger personified.  It’s crushing hatred in riff form.  It’s rage and pain squished into a little ball and fired in your direction.  Need to get somewhere fast and are on foot?  Put this on your mp3 player and you’ll be there in record time.  I would have killed someone to see them live.  Apparently this is called Groove Metal.  News to me.

Songs of Note: Mouth for War; Walk
