RUBY / Salt Peter (1995)

Industrial trip hop, or something like that.  Ruby were kind of unique which maybe explains why they never really got out of the ditch they were put in.  The lazy trip hop beats are married to light industrial guitars and droning distorted bass, at times it reminds me of Garbage.  This first album had potential and I think could have been the basis of a formidable live experience but on record it’s a little tame and not as immediate as it needed to be.

Songs of Note: Paraffin; Pine
